History of the national pizza day

Pizza was first consumed in Italy. The Naples of Italy required an easy-to-eat meal that was also cheap, and pizza fulfilled this craving need. The other parts of Italy judged the Neapolitan’s eating habits and called them disgusting and inappropriate.  In 1861, during the reign of a new king, some parts of Italy began to accommodate the idea of flatbread with toppings. Their decision was influenced by the appealing meal and the boredom that came with the constant eating of French cuisine meals.   Pizza mozzarella was the most enjoyed by the queen and parts of Italy, it had soft white cheese, red tomatoes, and green basils as toppings. The love for this variety was perhaps its resemblance to the Italian flag when it is arranged on a plate.   However, even with the parts of Italy giving in to pizza, they were only a little population of the entire country. Naple immigrants to the U. S started to prepare this culinary delight in the country’s cities as a means of livelihood. It was not too long before the whole of America embraced this treat and many other non-Italians alike.   Today, national pizza day is a holiday where people can enjoy the iconic dish and share slices of different kinds with family and friends.

February 9th is enjoyed by Americans for many reasons. The love for national pizza day is because there’s something for everyone; anyone can munch on it with anything, from sauce to thin crust to deep dish, the flexibility is non-stop! Celebrating pizza day will be incomplete without eating pizza ALL DAY. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served with everyone’s favorite. Pizza burgers, pizza fingers, and pizza Dosa can be enjoyed too. Another wonderful thing to do on pizza day is to break limits-go beyond the regular varieties and try out new flavors.

National pizza day was first observed in 2000 and has ever since then been celebrated. It is not certain who started this festival.
