A new Call of Duty game is coming November 3rd and it’s finally bringing players back to where it all started: World War II. No more spaceships or wall-running, and definitely no energy weapons. Call of Duty: WWII is all about the “boots on ground” experience in its multiplayer modes, and the authenticity of the setting and the atrocities of the era in its story campaign. Publisher Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games, makers of Advanced Warfare, held media events recently and a public livestream yesterday to officially unveil Call of Duty: WWII but as expected, it was an extremely controlled event, built around marketing keywords and limited showcases of select gameplay so not too much was revealed outside of the main trailer and confirmations of a few new and returning modes and features....

The malware can then be used to read user’s contacts, make the phone vibrate or sound a ringtone, steal user’s photos, and more whenever the developer chooses. Sketchy! After the first ever example of Mac ransomware was found in the wild earlier this year, Bitdefender Labs has found what it tells us is only the second example of true Mac malware to enter circulation this year, which it has dubbed Backdoor.MAC.Elanor. The backdoor is embedded into a fake file converter application that is accessible online on reputable sites offering Mac applications and software....

For the first time ever, users who do not subscribe to DirecTV service will have access to the NFL’s Sunday Ticket service on their mobile devices and computers for the 2014 season. During previous seasons, Sunday Ticket users had to have an active DirecTV satellite subscription to stream the games. While no official announcement has been made, DirecTV has published a promotional page for the service, advertising the fact that users can now “access live, out-of-market NFL games without a DIRECTV satellite TV account....

Netflix has announced a new “Downloads for You” feature for its iOS and Android applications. The company says that this feature will automatically download recommended TV shows or movies to your device “based on your tastes,” and it’s thankfully completely opt-in. The feature is rolling out today on Android and will begin testing on iOS soon. The company touts this feature as an expansion of its Smart Downloads feature, which it introduced three years ago as a way to automatically download the next episode of a TV show you’re watching....

Better Tab Management in Microsoft Edge Edge is going to pick up a lot of new tab management features to make navigating the web easier. According to the article by Microsoft Edge general manager Drew DeBruyne, the new management features are “designed specifically to address major points of anxiety for users – the chaos and clutter of the web and the fear of losing tabs.” He also says “Our research tells us that Windows users spend more than 50% of their time on the web, but are often derailed by the arduous task of having to sift through countless search results, sites, and the sheer volume of unfamiliar content online....

With the first batch of Nexus 6P units shipping out to customers, Google has also uploaded the Marshmallow factory images for the handset on its website. Since there are two different variants of the Nexus 6P — one for Europe and one for North America — the company has uploaded two different factory images. There is a slight difference in the build number of both factory images, MDA89D vs. MDB08K, to account for the difference in radios, but otherwise they are identical to each other....
