In its headline figure, the report said fixed-wireless NBN users only received 78.5% of the advertised download speed on average, which dropped to 68% in busy hours, and uploads sat at 58% in all hours and dropped to 52% in busy hours. For Fixed Wireless Plus users, a best effort service slated to provide 25-50Mbps down and 5-20Mbps up, the percentages translated to a download speed range of 50Mbps on average in the dead of night, down to 30Mbps at 8pm, and for uploads, the range was just above 6Mbps after midnight, and just above 4Mbps during the evening....

Netflix cancels the figure skating drama Spinning Out after one season. The series was created by a former competitive figure skater, Samantha Stratton, and it premiered on the streaming service in January 2020. Following athletes on the way to fulfilling their Olympic dreams, the cast of Spinning Out included Kaya Scodelario, Willow Shields, Evan Roderick, January Jones, and Johnny Weir in a recurring role. The drama centered around Kat Baker (Scodelario), an ambitious figure skater who is facing the possibility of retirement after a devastating fall....

On March 10 of this year, experts have recorded a spam campaign aimed at members of the media and production companies. Phishing emails contained a malicious document that exploits the vulnerability CVE-2014-1761 and CVE-2012-0158 to download Panda Banker from a remote server. March 19, researchers found another campaign, and this time, attackers focused on financial organizations. The Malicious documents contain macros that download a loader which is known as Godzilla, and the loader Godzilla starts downloading the banking trojan Panda Banker....

The Twitter account AppleDemoYT is notorious for sharing Apple prototypes, and today they’ve shared a first look at some never-before-seen prototype lightning cables. Lightning was marketed as a major improvement over the old iPod 30-pin connector primarily for its ability to be reversible. But this prototype calls into question if that was intended to be the case from the start. A new analyst survey published today offers some insight as to what consumers are looking for in future generation iPhones. Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson shared the results of a survey he conducted with 1,500 people who did not recently purchase a new iPhone, finding three primary factors preventing those users from upgrading… The survey, the results of which were shared by Barron’s, shows that the top reason those people haven’t recently upgraded is because their current iPhone “works just fine,” with 44 percent of people choosing that answer....

Microsoft Rewrites Paint for Windows 10 Earlier this year, leaks previewing universal versions of apps such as Notepad and Paint started appearing on the Windows Store.
